This workshop has 3 elements that are woven together to create a grounded experience of an Ayurvedic lifestyle. It aims to either introduce you to the ancient health science, or to strengthen your practice in it. We cover Nutrition, Lifestyle & Environment.
Nutrition: We explore the doshas; Vata/Pitta/Kapha, Agni – digestive fire, Ojas – the essence of digestion, and elimination. We’ll learn to cook a meal that incorporates the 6 tastes of Ayurveda and how to use this to balance the doshas.
Lifestyle: We look at rhythms and routines, seasonal changes and daily practices like Abhyanga: self- massage and Pranayama: breathwork. We’ll intertwine the sister sciences of Hatha Yoga – yoga, and Raj Yoga – meditation to create a complete approach to our well being.
Environment: Amani House is an off-grid venue that is self sustaining, generating it’s own power, growing its own food and eliminating its waste products. It is close to the earth and is a a successful permaculture site. It gives us an experience of living lightly and in tune with nature.
