At INDIKAAP we creates Ayurvedic and Vegan food, products and experiences.

Ayurveda has its roots in Indian culture, yet it’s principles can be applied to any type of cooking and incorporated into any lifestyle.

We use our knowledge of it’s principles, the six Ayurvedic Tastes, the Doshas (our personal Ayurvedic constitution) and the Gunas (the universal states of balance, transformation and stasis) to inform our delicious food at the pod, our products, and services.  We do all this while drawing inspiration from the diverse cultural food traditions found in South Africa and the world. 

  • Our vegetables are organic and grown in the Western Cape, South Africa, supporting sustainable farming and the building of communities
  • Our food is Vegan and Vegetarian with products that are clearly labelled and open to scrutiny
  • We strive to be a zero waste business, with care given to eliminating the use of plastic in packaging, manufacture, delivery, storage and cleaning materials

Food like other elements of culture, carries our cherished memories and cultural heritage. It  breathes inspiration into our connections to self and others, into places and into moments in time.

Our Doshas, or our Ayurvedic constitutions are a combination of the 5 elements: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.

Vata = Ether + Air

Pitta = Fire + Water

Kapha = Water + Earth

Knowing our dosha helps us to live in harmony with these innate characteristics, and we quickly able to determine when we are experiencing imbalance. We then use this knowledge to self-heal.
